    Botox For Hyperhidrosisin Boston

Hyperhidrosis can be a frustrating and embarrassing condition. It occurs when the sweat glands are overactive and produce too much sweat – creating noticeable perspiration that often leads to sweat marks in clothing.

At Boston Medical Aesthetics, we offer BOTOX® as a solution for people who suffer from hyperhidrosis. BOTOX® is an effective, long-lasting solution for preventing embarrassing sweat stains under the arms and staying dry, cool, and confident.

    Your BOTOX® Treatment for Hyperhidrosis

Your BOTOX® treatment will be performed by our board-certified nurse practitioner, Jennifer Canesi, APN-BC. She will work with you to determine the correct amount of BOTOX® for your needs as well as the best placement for your BOTOX® injections.

Before your procedure, the treatment areas will be numbed with ice. A numbing cream may also be used to ensure your comfort. Once you have been prepped, Jennifer will administer the BOTOX® injections carefully and precisely. This takes only a few minutes and you can go back to your regular routine immediately. There is no downtime required after your BOTOX® injections. You should notice reduced sweating in 4 or 5 days, with the final results occurring in about 14 days. The longevity of results varies from person to person, but most people can expect to stay dry for 6 to 12 months. Additional follow-up treatments can then be performed to keep you sweat-free and comfortable.

    About BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis

BOTOX® injections are an excellent option for treating hyperhidrosis in Boston, MA. BOTOX® has been used for many years as a medical and cosmetic treatment, and has more recently received FDA approval for underarm sweating. Rather than blocking the sweat glands as antiperspirants do, BOTOX® blocks the nerve signals that tell your sweat glands to produce sweat. This stops your body from perspiring.

    Benefits of BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis

The benefits of BOTOX® can be life-changing for someone who struggles with hyperhidrosis. Those who have this condition often feel embarrassed by their sweat and are frustrated by lack of effective treatment options.

Just going out in social situations can be anxiety-producing and stressful for someone with this condition. Although BOTOX® is most beneficial for people with hyperhidrosis, even those who don’t sweat excessively can still use BOTOX® to reduce sweat and feel more comfortable and confident. BOTOX® injections may be a good option if you have a major event coming up, or if you simply want an alternative to antiperspirant.

BOTOX® treatments start working within days and the product reaches peak performance in about 1 to 2 weeks. Many of our Boston-area clients no longer need to use antiperspirant after their BOTOX® treatment for hyperhidrosis. In addition, using BOTOX® for hyperhidrosis offers:
