Why We Chose to Offer Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® — And Why We Don't Carry Every Neurotoxin Available

One of the most common questions we hear from patients is:

"What's the difference between Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and all the other wrinkle relaxers?"

With so many neurotoxins now available, it's understandable to wonder why some practices offer every option while others are more selective.

At Boston Medical Aesthetics, we've chosen to focus on three products: Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify®. While several FDA-approved neurotoxins are available today, we believe these three provide the best combination of safety, effectiveness, versatility, and patient satisfaction.

Botox®: The Gold Standard

Botox Cosmetic® remains the most recognized name in aesthetic medicine—and for good reason.

As the first FDA-approved cosmetic neurotoxin, Botox has decades of clinical research, real-world experience, and physician familiarity behind it. It is also approved for more medical and cosmetic indications than any other toxin currently on the market.

Why we love Botox:

Many patients specifically request Botox because it is the product they know and trust. For both new and experienced toxin patients, Botox continues to be an excellent choice.

Dysport®: A Favorite for Fast Results and Natural Movement

Dysport has been a trusted alternative to Botox for many years and remains one of the most popular neurotoxins worldwide.

While individual results vary, many patients report seeing results slightly sooner with Dysport compared to Botox. Some patients also feel Dysport provides a smooth, natural appearance with excellent movement preservation.

Why we love Dysport:

• Often associated with a faster onset of action
• Excellent spread characteristics for larger treatment areas
• Natural-looking results
• High patient satisfaction
• Trusted track record and widespread use

For some patients, Dysport simply becomes their preferred toxin after trying multiple options.

Daxxify®: The Longer-Lasting Alternative

Daxxify is the newest toxin we offer and has generated significant excitement because of its potential for longer duration.

While results vary from person to person, many patients experience longer-lasting outcomes compared with traditional neurotoxins. This can be especially appealing for busy professionals, parents, frequent travelers, or anyone who struggles to maintain a regular treatment schedule.

Daxxify may be an excellent option for:

• Patients who feel they metabolize Botox or Dysport quickly
• Patients looking for fewer appointments each year
• Individuals with demanding schedules
• Patients interested in maximizing treatment longevity

For the right patient, Daxxify can be a valuable alternative that reduces the frequency of maintenance visits while still delivering beautiful results.

Why We Don't Offer Every Neurotoxin on the Market

Today, there are several additional neurotoxins available, including Xeomin®, Jeuveau®, and Letybo®.

While each product has FDA approval and may be appropriate in certain settings, we believe that carrying every available toxin does not necessarily improve patient outcomes.

Instead, we focus on offering products that provide meaningful differences and distinct advantages for our patients.

Xeomin®

Xeomin is sometimes referred to as a "naked" neurotoxin because it contains fewer accessory proteins.

While this is an interesting scientific distinction, clinical results are generally very similar to Botox. Because we already offer Botox—with its extensive research, broader indications, and strong patient loyalty—we have not found a compelling reason to replace or duplicate it in our practice.

Jeuveau®

Jeuveau was developed specifically for aesthetic use and is often marketed as a modern alternative to Botox.

However, in our experience, its clinical performance is largely comparable to Botox and Dysport. Since we already offer two highly trusted products with long track records and established patient preference, Jeuveau has not provided enough differentiation to justify adding another toxin option.

Letybo®

Letybo is one of the newest neurotoxins to enter the U.S. market.

While early data is promising, it currently has less long-term real-world experience compared with Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. As with any newer product, we prefer to see additional long-term data and broader clinical experience before considering incorporation into our treatment offerings.

Rather than overwhelming patients with every neurotoxin available, we focus on offering products that each serve a unique purpose:

• Botox® for proven consistency, predictability, and unmatched clinical history
• Dysport® for excellent performance and potentially faster onset
• Daxxify® for patients seeking longer-lasting results

The best neurotoxin isn't the newest one. It's the one that delivers the right result for the right patient.
